urban sketching 31.10.: industrial area

Here's October's urban sketching post! This time we changed up the sketching process a bit, instead of taking an hour or more to find and draw motives (we did that too, just not for as long), we did several little five-minute sketches of the ground or things close to the ground. That's why so many things here are pretty rough in style compared to my usual works. Only the house at the top left, as well as the car and the tree at the bottom right were done at regular speed. (Although I started the car when our sketching tour was almost over, and only got the pencil sketch done, so I had to do the linework in the cafe we went to for debriefing )

So yes, that quick drawing thing is clearly not my strength, but it's also quite interesting. You can't really depict all the details, you rather have to hint at it. Interesting exercise!
