urban sketching 27.6.

So, I've joined an urban sketching group in Linz, and it's great
We meet once a month somewhere in the city, most of the time we have an overall topic for the things we draw, but in this case we were just limited to the location (the square behind the Ars Electronica building)

The first drawing is probably a bit confusing since it's drawn from an unusual perspective, it's a big staircase and I drew it looking down from the top of the stairs. I probably should have chosen something more easy for my first urban sketch, but the geometry of the handrail had me intrigued Done in pencil, with looots of erasing and redrawing

Second one is a rooftop that stood out because of the small statue. Done in fineliner pen. Not really happy with the shading, though :/

But anyways, urban sketching is really great - While normally I have to motivate myself to work on my comics or something, there I just draw and enjoy it quite a lot, too And you meet likeminded people and can get constructive feedback on your work. I can really recommend it to everyone who enjoys drawing!
