88: turn of the year

And I'm slowly but steadily catching up with the Solarblaukraut translations!

This was posted in the first week of January, and was my summary of 2012. Back then, the weather really was pretty autumn-like, raining all the time - now we already have quite a lot of snow

Oh, the bands I did see this previous year! So many great groups among them... I saw 53 bands live (4 of them only partly), and there were some real gems among them
The three most memorable gigs were (youtube links inclusive):
[link] Lis Er Stille: a danish progressive doom band that had a really atmospheric and dark show
[link] Torso: Austrian psychedelic stoner that somehow felt special among all the stoner groups I saw
[link] Protest the Hero: My absolute favourite from last year, a progressive math core band with amazing concepts and songs that are so full of energy that you can't stand still. And live it's even more incredible. Reeeally awesome

By the way, I post a musical recommendation every week on my blog, so if you have a similar taste in music, it might be worth checking out!

So I already talked about my recent mood crashes in the description of this comic, and I'm glad that I can say that it's way better so far.

Now to the New Year's Eve party, it was hosted at a boy scout home by a friend of Fischer, the guy who's already a character in many of my comics and basically the reason why Solarblaukraut still exists - If he hadn't motivated me during the first few months, I'd have given it up pretty fast, so thanks to him! Also thanks to him for inviting me to that party, since it was really a great start into the new year.
One of the coolest guys at the party was a physics student called Gerold who was the only one who stayed up all night, besides me. We played cards up until morning, and he was also the one who staged a lightsaber fight with me

Oh and the last sentence is a reference to The Dark Knight Returns in the german version (it's also the last sentence in the comic book), and for the english version, I just translated it directly, since the english version of that sentence isn't all that fitting in my opinion. Anyway, let's hope I'm right
